A modern take on an old theme, which is reclaimed here as a feminist work. The poisonous apple and the forbidden fruit are recurring motifs in storytelling which continue to perpetuate the female as the evil temptress. Shown here in this painting, Eve holds an innocuous apple against the backdrop of a snake motif. This painting is part of the I Am series which considered female stereotypes.
